Mizner Park - This complex combines multiple uses in an urban setting: 3-story office/retail buildings and a residential/retail complex consisting of 5 levels of apartments over retail space and connected to 3-level parking garages. A variety of materials are used in structural systems — precast concrete for garages, composite structural steel for the office/retail components, and post-tensioned concrete for the residential/retail quadrants. The site's coastal location required incorporating high wind-load and flood-control requirements into the structural design. Local code dictates buildings must be able to withstand 110 mile/hour winds from a hurricane.
